| The Hotel Schiff, that has been welcoming our guests for many years, is undergoing a change of ownership in January 2010. For the present, therefore, we are unable to offer this single centre walking holiday in 2010 until we have been able to assure ourselves that the new owners will be maintaining appropriate standards. | ||

The Hotel Schiff The Hotel Schiff is in the pedestrianised centre of town, just a couple of hundred yards from the lake. Dating back to 1562, it is one of the oldest buildings in town. Fully modernised, most bedrooms have a view of either the lake or the town square. The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna and beauty salon. Lift to all floors. The public areas and bars are decorated in typical Black Forest style and the restaurant is one of the most popular in town. You can book the holiday with half board if you want. |

Some suggested walks for this holiday Walk 1. Enjoy a relaxing walk round all or part of the lake (about 11 miles). Walk 2. Along the lake shore. Climb to open rocks (fine view), past an inn to a chapel. Descend through forest to a striking forest tarn, and back to the lake (about 9 miles). Walk 3. Train to Feldberg Station, climb to the foot of the Feldberg, then walk some of the nature trails on the highest mountain in the Black Forest (about 9 miles). Walk 4. Bus to Lenzkirch. A steep climb through forest to a chapel, then through open country down to the lake (about 7 miles). |
