and curved slopes are covered with vines, while elsewhere the terrain
is quite rugged. The area has a long history, with many, now often ruined,
castles and picturesque towns. While a very popular area for visitors, as soon as you strike off on foot away from the river you find yourself among peaceful vineyards. Climb a little further and you are in superb wooded and rocky landscapes. |
