Hotel Kirschbaum Our hotel in Morbach is situated on the edge of town and next door to the forest, it is perfectly placed for setting off on a days walking. A recently built 3* hotel owned by the Armbruster family, this is in a really peaceful situation. Rooms are large and the restaurant takes as much care with its vegetarian dishes as it does with meat dishes. For those on half board, which we recommend, the choice of meals changes daily. If you are vegetarian, then we can thoroughly recommend this hotel to you. The hotel also has an attractive health farm attached. Sauna, solarium, massage and a number of beauty treatments can all be arranged. |

Some suggested walks for this holiday Walk 1. Bus to Gonzerath, then follow the Ausonius Way past Baldenau Castle back to Morbach (about 11 miles). Walk 2. Walk up to the summit of the Erbeskopf, the highest peak west of the Rhine. Return through the fine forests lying to the south of Morbach (about 12 miles). Walk 3. A circular walk past a rock outcrop to one of the characteristic Hunsrück watermills, then to Walholz Church and Hunolstein Castle. Back to Morbach along a river valley and through open country (about 10 miles). Walk 4. Take the bus to Bernkastel, on the Mosel. Then either walk across the Mosel Heights to Traben-Trarbach, or take a river trip, or simply walk through the narrow streets and alleys of this enchanting town. |
