| The Hotel Hechten The Hotel Hechten is a 3* hotel close to the castle and in the centre of the old town. We have been using this hotel since 1988 and since then we have seen steady improvement in the facilities. This is simply the most popular hotel we offer. The owners, the Pfeiffer and Tramp families, are hosts for whom nothing is too much trouble. They will be delighted to offer advice during your stay. The hotel has a sauna. |
Some suggested walks for this holiday The two long distance paths, the King Ludwig Way and the Lech Heights Trail both end in Füssen. But there is a huge range of other walks, with panoramic views of the alps, for all to enjoy. Walk 1. Bus to Pfronten. Walk back to Füssen through the alpine foothills. European Long Distance Path leads you via Schlossangeralb and on to the Falkenstein. Then via Salober, the Alatsee lake and Bad Faulenbach back to Füssen. Walk 2. The Buchenberg. This mountain rises to the north of Füssen. Either climb the mountain, or take the chair lift to the summit before descending by one of three routes. Walk 3. Take the bus to Trauchgau, then follow the King Ludwig Way via Neuschwanstein Castle back to Füssen (about 13 miles). Walk 4. Bus or walk to Hohenschwangau. From there climb, or take the cable car to the top of the Tegelberg. There are a number of routes down to the valley again. |
