The Baden Red Wine Trail 2010

Map of the Baden Red Wine Trail This is a short and generally easy walk, suitable for all, including young children. It combines walking through forests and vineyards with stays in attractive and historic villages. Sasbachwalden has been officially recognised as one of the prettiest villages in Germany.
Day 1. Arrive in Achern, transfer to Lauf.

Day 2. A circular walk, including the well named Panorama Way, which offers magnificent views over Lauf and the surrounding area (7 miles).

Alte Trotte
Day 3. Follow the river valley, then uphill to a superb viewpoint before descending to Obersasbach (8 miles).

Day 4. Past a lake, then through woodland and vineyards to Sasbachwalden, voted the most beautiful small town in Germany in 2002 (9 miles).

Wine Slope
Day 5. Either follow the Ortenauer Wine Trail (4 miles), or take a longer route that leads higher up over the valley into Kappelrodeck and Waldulm (6 miles).

Day 6. Follow the Geological Nature Trail, a circular walk past fascinating rock outcrops set in superb forest (5 miles).

Tour Details: 6 nights Bed & Breakfast in inns, in rooms with shower/WC. 4 glasses of local Red Wine. Baggage transfer. Extra nights may be taken at any point.
